Should Christians Vote?
Should any Disciple of YaHshua Vote?

Right up front, let me say -- Yes, is my answer.  Well, that is my opinion and I will give you my reasoning.  And, with a little cheat, right at the beginning, I throw this out -- our Heavenly Father is in control, and our vote may or may not have any influence.  People, in the Bible, usually got the leader they deserved, and with a lot of grace periods added.  So, hide under a bushel basket, or in a cave, or come out and show your hand.  Don't get me wrong, voting is not the same as joining into the political system.  Still, looking in your Bible you will find examples where, called our Prophets did work in the political side of things and in some cases were persecuted by those of the opposing party -- think, Daniel, Ezekiel, Nathan, and others.  Look as Joseph, a man our God took, and by circumstances beyond the believer's control, put Joseph, second to none, beside the Pharaoh.  There are other examples.

Our Heavenly Father is in control of everything.  He sets them up and takes the down -- really, so when something happens that seems to be against us, as believers, then He is allowing -- that has to be the position of anyone saying they do not vote, as I once did.   Truthfully, it is hard to have a serious opinion about anything if you say you do not vote for what you believe to be a better choice.  That is like saying that you are willing to be a two part citizen, as the Apostle Paul was a Jew with Roman citizenship, and back in the day, that meant something -- Paul has been taken captive for inciting a riot, or so he was accused, and the question of his being put in chains came up --

Act 22:26  When the centurion heard this, he went to the commander and reported it. "What are you going to do?" he asked. "This man is a Roman citizen."
Act 22:27  The commander went to Paul and asked, "Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?" "Yes, I am," he answered.
Act 22:28  Then the commander said, "I had to pay a big price for my citizenship." "But I was born a citizen," Paul replied.
Act 22:29  Those who were about to question him withdrew immediately. The commander himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put Paul, a Roman citizen, in chains.

Paul claimed the rights of a Roman Citizen -- he had dual citizenship, and he was not afraid to take advantage.  If the Apostle, does not think it is improper to do so, then why should we.  You do, however, have to follow your own conscience -- just make sure it is not a self-righteous choice.   We do not need to agree, but you have to admit that the example Paul set, is a standard many in the "no vote" camp have not noticed or were not aware of.  There are other examples to follow.

Think about this too; Do you believe that our Creator God, and our Savior, put the lowest of men, men lacking character, and in moral decline, in the Highest offices among men on Earth?  Of course He does, and if such a person succeeds it can only be that He had supernatural help.  Sometimes, however, we can see the choice of Leaders is, well, hand picked for the job.  Still, we see others who are not, and have become some of our biggest, historical failures.  What does this prove?  That our God, the God of all Creation, the Father of YaHshua our Savior, is the One in Charge -- He is responsible for both the failures and the successes.  Think about it -- even is Satan claims this world as his own personal kingdom, and is roaring around its face seeking to destroy people of God, at every chance, he, meaning Satan and his angels, can only do what is allowed.  This is the lesson we read about in the first chapter of Job.  At the present time, this Earth is Satan's Kingdom, he and his devil angels are imprisoned here -- just read Revelation Chapter 12, and you will read about the final result of Satan and his angels attempt to return to Heaven.

Think about it.  If this were our Father's Kingdom, it would be far different from what it is now, and it is one day -- Rev 21:1 -- a New Heaven and a New Earth.  No, this World (our Earth) Kingdom, with its various parts and pieces is Satan's present domain, his Kingdom -- for now, it is a temporary thing.   If this were not true, then Satan could not have offered our Savior, YaHshua, the Kingdoms of the world as payment for worship -- Mat 4:8-9 -- when the offer was made, and YaHshua never corrected him.  YaHshua never said, Oh, but you are wrong Devil, these kingdom of the world are not yours to give.  Nope, YaHshua never said any such thing, although He knows and we know that the transfer of power is going to pass from the Devil's hands to someone else, all that remains of for YaHshua to take possession.  If there is to be something, like a tree, or a planet, say, bearing both good and bad fruit, what we might call a "mixture of good and evil", or even an object of both death and life, it could not be better portrayed than in the image of the Earth itself, with all it has to offer, both good and evil.  In any mixture there is a swirling around of thicknesses and thinness, with very little purity in one or the other -- perhaps this is what we are supposed to envision when we are told about this "tree of good and evil"?

We have been given the freedom to chose -- our choice, from birth to death.  For this to be honest, we must be allowed, without penalty, to pick and chose our leaders.  This brings up and old saying, a saying that has proven itself truthful -- "The people deserve those they chose", or "You get what you pay for, good or bad".   This can be seen as being given the opportunity to grow, to mature.  And too, explains why out life times have been shortened from that of our original source parents.  By living much shorter lives, it becomes much for difficult for the bad seed, so to speak, to stay in power and continue to rot the whole, as happened in the pre-flood world.   Right when it seems it cannot get any worse, that generation or two, die off, and the pendulum, as they say, swings back the other way.  This has kept evil in check for the most part, but it still seems to advance, and for a reason many people ignore -- Satan and his crew are in the house -- The Devil and his team of angels and demons are imprisoned on this place we call Earth, our home, that is also their home.  I am sure that they see us as the intruders, even the replacements and they don't like it.  We are not actually their 'replacements", not at all.  We are destined to be the very Children of the One Power of all things, the Father of our Brother, YaHshua -- having originated from Him as the Word -- John 1:13-,14, 18 -- having always been with the One we also call our Heavenly Father, YaHshua having come in the flesh being the First of many -- Him the First Fruit.  Yes, there is a small suggestion that we came from the Father, and passing through the pathway of the flesh -- BUT -- We are told that YaHshua is the FIRST, and He did not come along until some 4,000 years after the first man and woman were created -- created being the operative word here.  So, let's keep our heads and not jump into zones of imagination.  Also, we, after the Christ, Messiah, Savior YaHshua, are taken on as fruits of ADOPTION -- that alone means that we may receive His Spirit, but He is the origin of it, not the other way around.

1Co 15:20  But now is the Christ (Anointed) risen from the dead, and become the First-fruits of them that slept (sleep).  KJV

1Co 15:20  But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. ESV, HRB, NIV, and The Scriptures Version, all agree on "fallen asleep", not as in the past tense only, as the KJV has it

1Co 15:23  But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. ESV

Jas 1:18  Of His own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. ESV
